Madison, MS, July 24, 2019 – BAPS Charities has received a $10,000 grant from the MassMutual Foundation as part of a national Community Service Award (CSA) program. (BAPS Charities is one of thirty-two organizations nationally to receive an award). The MassMutual Foundation made the grant as a tribute to the volunteer efforts of Rachana Puri, a MassMutual agent with Capital Financial Group in Madison, MS.
“We are stronger when we come together as a community, and our Community Service Awards program recognizes a group of MassMutual financial professionals who embody this spirit, working with members of their respective neighborhoods, towns and cities, helping nonprofits with which they are involved grow and thrive,” said Dennis Duquette, Head of MassMutual Community Responsibility and President of the MassMutual Foundation. “We are proud of the time and energy Rachana dedicates to better her community and delighted to support the great work MassMutual financial professionals do with organizations across the country.”
The Mission of Baps Charities is Spirit of Service in Action. They engage in a wide array of charitable activities and projects in the United States and around the world. It is through these projects that thousands of volunteers across the world live in the Spirit of Service. Some past projects and events include: Walk Green, Earth Day, Food Drives, education efforts, health fairs, mobile medical clinics, and a relief fund for California wild fires.
The funds will be used in any need that arises in the United States or globally for humanitarian causes.
Rachana has been with Capital Financial Group for 8 years. She has been committed to BAPS Charities since 2013 and has dedicated over 240 volunteer hours annually, helping the organization grow and flourish.
“I am very pleased that my dedication to the BAPS Charities has been recognized by the MassMutual Foundation,” said Rachana. “This grant will provide much needed funding to continue supporting our community through serving society in a variety of charitable activities and projects like the Walk Green, Health Fairs, environmental issues, humanitarian relief, and educational services."
