Holiday Drive Brings In Over 2100 Items For The Martha O'bryan Center

The team at Capital Financial Group just finished their annual holiday drive for items most requested by the Martha O’Bryan Center. This year over 2100 total items were donated including baby wipes, diapers, shampoo, deodorant, soap, hair brushes and toilet paper. In the past, the drive was a competition between staff and the advisors, but this year the Brentwood and Memphis office locations battled for bragging rights. Worth the most points were packs of diapers and baby formula, so the drive became a fun battle over which team could gather the most diapers. The Brentwood office won this year. In the end over 2300 diapers were collected for families in need. Lauren Bellflower, Director of Marketing and Branding shared, “It is incredible to see our offices come together to help out with the Martha O’Bryan Center. It can be especially difficult for families at this time of the year and we are hoping to help in a small but impactful way in our community. This drive helps to reinforce two of our most important company values: gratitude and humility and I am proud to be part of the Capital Financial Group family.”

Martha O’Bryan Center is an anti-poverty non-profit organization with longstanding history and deep community roots working strategically to build upward mobility, resiliency and well-being within families. Founded in 1894 when Miss O’Bryan organized the Gleaners Society at First Presbyterian Church to support impoverished North Nashville residents, Martha O’Bryan Center has operated from the heart of Cayce Place – Nashville’s most distressed community – since 1948.  This is where they continue in service, partnering with Cayce Place families to open doors of hope and possibility, create a culture of attainment, and positively shape future generations.
