The staff and agents at Capital Financial Group have once again begun their holiday drive for the items most requested by the Martha O’Bryan Center. This year the request was for much needed items like tooth brushes, diapers, shampoo, soap, packaged snacks and toilet paper. “Although this isn’t the typical holiday canned food or toy drive, I think it means more to those in our community to have a little comfort knowing that they don’t have to worry about cost of these essentials this season,” Emily Willis, Recruiting Coordinator/Marketing Coordinator said. The drive runs from November 12th through December 7th. Last year, staff and agents in the Brentwood office donated over 400 total items and over 1,500 diapers. This year the goal is to collect over 1000 total items in a competion between the Memphis and Brentwood offices.
Martha O’Bryan Center is an anti-poverty non-profit organization with longstanding history and deep community roots working strategically to build upward mobility, resiliency and well-being within families. Founded in 1894 when Miss O’Bryan organized the Gleaners Society at First Presbyterian Church to support impoverished North Nashville residents, Martha O’Bryan Center has operated from the heart of Cayce Place – Nashville’s most distressed community – since 1948. This is where they continue in service, partnering with Cayce Place families to open doors of hope and possibility, create a culture of attainment, and positively shape future generations. “Martha O’Bryan Center’s mission and efforts are regarded strongly within Capital Financial Group’s staff and agents and we are happy to be fortunate enough to donate our time and funds to this great cause,” Lauren Bellflower, Director of Marketing and Branding stated.
